Waiting on Kaleb!

Michelle and Justin had everything ready.  The nursery was beautifully decorated.  They had all the necessary newborn equipment and supplies.  They had chosen his name.  Even their dogs knew something was up!  Then, on Superbowl Sunday their son decided it was finally time to make his way into the world.  So perfectly fitting as dad Justin is a huge NFL fan!  I loved spending an hour with Michelle and Justin during such a special time in their lives, the last few weeks before they welcomed their baby boy into the world.  Justin talked about watching football with his boy – and he did… all fresh and new little 6 pound Kaleb swaddled and cradled in his arms… it was a Superbowl Sunday these new parents won’t soon forget and it had nothing to do with the score of the game or even who was playing.  These are just a few of the images that were captured during their maternity session – doesn’t Michelle look incredible? … stay tuned for some adorable photos of their precious baby boy – the smallest newborn I have ever photographed!

Smash The Cake Birthday Sessions… So fun to turn 1 !

Caden came to the studio today for his 1st Birthday session.  I couldn’t wait to get a few images from the smash the cake portion of his session up on the blog.  Thanks to my amazing Sister In Law who made the fabulous, super-cute cake for Caden to have fun with.  You can find her on facebook under Amy’s Cups and Cakes.

A separate post of images from the rest of Caden’s session will come later, but for now here’s a quick sneak peek of the messy part!  I absolutely love these sessions and these photos!!!

Birthday Boy Aiden | Children’s Photography Sessions

I began to photograph Aiden (and his big brother Joseph) when he was just learning to crawl.  Time flies so fast, I can’t believe he’s 2 already!  I am so happy his mom brought him to the studio for his very own birthday session.  I think it’s so special when kids get a little one on one time with the camera and I loved watching him play with some of my props and chase around the balloon he brought with him from home.  Every child has their own special things they love most… the things that bring them comfort and a sense of security.  Sometimes it’s a blanket or stuffed toy that MUST go everywhere that he or she goes… and when Aiden placed Diego on the floor in the middle of my studio I knew it was his way of letting me know he wanted him close at all times.  Diego and his blanket found their way into most of the shots and I think that’s great… at two years old they are a big part of Aiden’s world and these images are meant to be a snapshot of exactly that!  Can’t wait til our next session, to see how much he’s grown!

Nenzi - Thanks Wanda for capturing Aiden at 2 years old (serious, mischievious and constantly in motion!). My boys always love spending time with you!

Baby J – he gets cuter every time I see him!

Baby Jordan came to see me a few weeks ago for his 6 month photo session and we had a lot of fun in the studio. He came dressed in his Jordan warm up suit and even brought along a baby basketball. He looked super cute in every adorable outfit his proud parents changed him into. He has the best smile and loves to giggle – especially when we took off his shoes and socks. The bottom right photo is one I call “What’s that uncle Freddy, you’re buying me sports car in 15 years?”  This is what 6 months looks like – just when I think he can’t possibly get any cuter… just wait til July when he turns 1

Jason - Love it and can’t wait to see the rest! Great work as always!

Sofie – A glimpse of Day 8 …

Back in late November Brian and I spent an afternoon with the Filice family.  They had just welcomed their baby girl Sofie into the world a week earlier and with 3 other children in their nest it was such a wonderful time to capture a few hours in their busy life. Our keepsake moments short films are an amazing way to stop time for an instant (or an afternoon).  We wanted to be able to create something that they could look back on forever and always remember what life was like when Sofie was just 8 days new… when Sarah was 2, Anthony 8 and Michael 10.  It’s the little things like waiting for the school bus to drop off your big brothers, playing video games and chasing the family cat.  It’s the giggling and the quiet rocking of your newborn baby girl.  Even more importantly though, it’s all the sounds of a happy family just spending time at home.  Sarah’s voice is so adorable – oh, how children’s voices change quickly.  If you listen carefully you’ll even hear Sofie’s newborn cry.  With just one camera and two lenses we were able to capture an afternoon with this beautiful family.  I also took a few photos – a family portrait by the Christmas tree for their Christmas card and a couple of each sibling taking a turn holding their new baby sister.  A few days later Sofie came to the studio for her “official” newborn session, in fact she was my very first guest in the new studio, and she was picture perfect!
Enjoy their Keepsake Moments short film and a few photos from Sofie’s newborn session. The music is Circus of Love by Benjamin Dunn and Friends – licensed through the Music Bed.
